Hi, I’m Kenzie.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut. I specialize in working with clients who are eager to uncover and address recurring patterns in their life that are no longer serving them. In our work together you we will better understand why you may be struggling with self critical thoughts, engaging with the same unhelpful coping even though you’re desperate to change, or feeling trapped in unhealthy relational dynamics. Then, we will work to fix it.

I view therapy as a place where you can feel valued, safe, and pushed to grow into the version of yourself that you desire. My relationship with my clients is my biggest priority; I can promise that I will laugh, cry, and cheer with you throughout our journey together. If I can help you see yourself through a compassionate and confident lens, then I have done my job well.

My Approach

I use a collaborative approach with all of my clients to best fit their needs. There is no one size fits all in therapy and so I will first learn who you are and then tailor my approach based on your goals, what you resonate with, and what is best helping you to grow. These therapeutic models are a guide, but you deserve a therapist that will tailor their approach to best serve YOU.

(Below are just some of the common therapeutic models that could be used in session).

Person Centered

Before anything else I will get to know who you are as a person. The therapeutic relationship is the number one indicator for successful therapy and so I don’t take this step lightly. You deserve to feel like you’ve found a good therapist fit and so even if it’s not me, I will help guide you to that connection you deserve.

Narrative therapy

We will explore ways in which your life experiences might be shaping how you see yourself (your potential, your belief about yourself, how you interact with others), and we will expand that single narrative to open your mind up for broader truths and understanding. This will help you see yourself and the world through a new lens.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Lets take a closer look at any automatic, negative thoughts swirling in your mind. You’re not alone- we all have them - but we forget that just because we think it, doesn’t mean it’s the truth. With CBT you will better notice, challenge, and reframe your thoughts to actually serve you.

(And yes, maybe some “homework”)

Inner Child work

Does our childhood impact our current functioning as adults? Of course. The good news is, our brains are malleable and the fact that you’re even on this page reading this shows that you’re resilient. Exploring childhood wounds and offering yourself the care and compassion you needed at the time can be an incredibly powerful, emotionally corrective experience.

Strengths based

You have everything you need, right now, to be exactly who you want to be; you just need to learn to trust and love yourself again. We will work together to help you find the version of yourself that knows you can and will live the life you are hoping for. Together, we’ve got this.
